New Book Release – “The Boy, the Tree & the Trench.”

Front cover

Wholeheartedly embrace everything about yourself… listen to your heartbeat. You are enough. This book is not for the fainthearted. The Boy, the Tree & the Trench takes a good hard look at the culturally constructed ways men are expected to abandon their true selves and stay within their self belittling behaviours.

Many circumstances pitted themselves against David. Abandonment and an abusive upbringing landed him in a deep place of self-perceived failure. Through courageous openness and vulnerability, Dave defied the socially constructed traps set for him and redefined normality for those around him. His heartfelt writings point to a freedom that will give flight to your wings. This fast-moving book, full of surprising twists and turns, will challenge your mindset and bring you to a new level of trust in a Father that has your back.

Missed or Missing

Bible Reference: 1 Thess. 2:7-8, 11-12, 19-20

1 Thessalonians 2:7-8 (NKJV)
7  But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children.
8  So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us….
11  as you know how we exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own children,
12  that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory….
19  For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?
20  For you are our glory and joy.

In these passages of Scripture the apostle Paul is speaking as a father. Paul didn’t just teach – he lived it out every minute of the day. Continue reading

Fatherlessness in Our Society

There is no doubt in my mind that our society is slowly if not rapidly sliding into a state of fatherlessness. The more you talk on family issues with our young, the more you realise something has to be done.

As I see it, churches are the only institutions who have the power to attack the scourge of fatherlessness that has drifted into the fabric of our society. Up to 40%+ of our children do not live with their birth father. The times are tough and this is our chance to take action for God, to restore fatherhood and reconcile families. The church must act. For the sake of our children, we must. Continue reading

Orphan to Sonship

My Journey to Reality

FACT: Lucifer was the very first orphan in the universe!

Lucifer lived in the presence of the Father in a sinless state. He only knew Father’s love and the beauty of His presence. He was a majestic angel who had a special place in heaven itself.

My Childhood Shaped My Future, So I Thought…

I grew up in a small country town in NSW, devoid of a father’s influence. When I was 17 years old, I made a decision that I was not going to live with family anymore, so I joined the Regular Army. My reason: family and people hurt you. I thought if I could get away from family, aunts and uncles I could live free of pain. Continue reading

The Focus of this Blog….

Hi,

This site is for discussion about the Father’s heart and His love for His children. It is not a gripe site nor is it a site where individuals are cited. I have a strict integrity code and I will not hesitate to delete any post that is not pointing to glorifying God the Father.

Having said that, there is a Father who loves us all, His creation that many people churched or unchurched have never known. To know the reality of His love is the most life changing experience I think any child could have; that is to know the height, the breadth, the width and the depth of Father’s love.

There will be both posts and articles for you to read and comment upon. Be blessed as you do.

Father loves you,

Ps. Dave Poulton
