Galatians 4:5-7 (NASB) 5 so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6 Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.
Under Roman law, an adopted child was guaranteed all legal rights to his father’s property, even if he was formerly a slave. He was not a second-class son; he was equal to all other sons, biological or adopted, in his father’s family. As adopted children of God, we share with Jesus all rights to God’s resources. As God’s heirs, we can claim what he has provided for us—our full identity as his children.

The Best is saved till last – the next post will be 47 characteristics of a son given to me on Sunday July 13th during the am service at Meadowbrook Christian Church. I was reading John 1:12 and Galatians 4:4-7 when I went back to Malachi 4:5-6 and the 47 characteristics were so vivid I had to write them down even in the midst of a sermon being preached that had nothing to do with sonship.
